5 – The Lizard Man

If you go down to the swamps of Lee County in South Carolina you could be in for a big surprise. The Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp is said to be a 7 foot man-like lizard which walks upright and boasts both hair and lizard-like skin. The first sighting came in 1988, after weird stories of damaged cars flushed out local legends of a red-eyed lizard man. “Unclassifiable” footprints were plaster-cast and a local radio station offered a $1-million reward. The creature went away until apparently reappearing in the early 2000s. In 2015 a woman called Sarah released a picture of Lizard Man – which looks unfortunately like a man in a lizard suit – and a short video that was more mysterious and thus more convincing was subsequently posted online.
