The Armadillo Strikes Back
In the month that the shooting of Cecil the Lion became a world-wide outrage, this strange story of an animal who survived a gun shot has been enthusiastically shared on social media – a blow back for the animal kingdom.
Police in Cass County, Texas investigated after an early morning shooting on a local highway. The injured victim told officers that he’d shot at an an armadillo only to be struck in the head by the ricocheting bullet. Reports are confused as to whether the bullet struck the well-armoured creature or a rock. It was 3am. A Georgia women was hit and injured when a relative tried to plug one of these tough little beasts earlier this year. Read more here.
