Pub Landlord Still Hanging Around?

Historic pubs and inns are great sites for ghost hunters. This photograph, which came to light this week, claims to show the spirit of a departed landlord in one of Britain’s most-haunted hostelries, The Golden Fleece in York.

The story of a host who hanged himself has haunted the Fleece for years. Staff have claimed to feel a horrifying constriction of their necks while standing in a particular part of the pub, which dates back 500 years.

Susanne Taggart, 51, was preparing for a spot of ghost hunting when she shot off a picture that she claims shows the shape of this unhappy publican behind the bar.

The rest of her investigation proved fruitful, with lots of paranormal signs in the air, but Sue has had to appeal for help to explain this image rationally, something that as a sceptic she’d love to do. “This is the one piece of footage we have ever found that we are not able to debunk,” she said.
