Ghostly Cabinet Couple
Another cabinet photograph from around the turn of the 20th century. There’s such a wistful, historical look to this couple. I don’t know who they are, where they were, what happened to them or anything. All we have is this ghostly reminder of them. Then you catch the eye of the man, and he stares out at you across the gulf of time. Eye to eye, and it’s sends a little shiver down the spine.
In picture #5, the “blank” look can be attributed to the fact that she was dead. This is the Victorian era genre of last pictures taken with their loved ones. If you look down at her feet, you will see the contraption that was used to “prop” up the bodies. Google it.
